Business innovation plays an important role in driving economies around the world. Although innovative entrepreneurs come from different backgrounds, they share common traits, motives and competencies. Moreover, they are known to have have a strong academic background and 5-10 years of work experience before launching their first venture. They are neither beginners nor novices. They are serial innovators who leave a portfolio of successful and not-so-successful companies at the end of their careers. and not so successful companies at the end of their career. Supporting the growth of innovative entrepreneurs through VET can therefore have a lasting impact.
Creative thinking, problem solving, leadership and team management, innovation management, agile management, strategic planning, risk management, business model development, venture capital raising and rapid experimentation are key trainable competencies for innovative entrepreneurs. are the main trainable competences for innovative entrepreneurs. Providing training materials that appeal to each of these competencies and presenting them in an accessible, attractive and appropriate innovation education environment for the project's target group is not only worthwhile, it is also worthwhile for the project's target group. the project's target group is not only worthwhile, but necessary.
The main goal of the 8 PER CENT Project is to support the growth of innovative entrepreneurial initiatives in Europe. To achieve this goal, the project has the following objectives:
- Promote innovative entrepreneurship.
- To provide support in the main competences to be developed for innovative entrepreneurs.
- Encourage other vocational training providers to make use of the set of resources developed in the framework of the project.
- Open up the innovation process to people with experience in fields other than academia and science.
- Include more staff in the innovation process.
- Allowing greater freedom of circulation of knowledge.
- Develop products and services that can create new markets.
The 8% project has eight organisations as a partnership, coming from different countries in Europe such as: France, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and Cyprus..
